Glenrothes Chess Club Quickplay/Allegro Rules 2006-07

(a)

The club will run a quickplay/allegro tournament

 

(b)

The Quickplay will be open to all players, including juniors

 

(c)

The format will be an all-play-all league

(a)

The quickplay will run on the fourth Monday of the month

 

 

(b)

The fourth Monday of the month should be kept free of all other games – including TAFCA and championship matches. 

Where a clash is unavoidable, the room will be set out in an appropriate manner.

(a)

Games will be 20 minutes per player

 

(b)

Quickplay evenings will last 7 pm until 9.30 or 10 pm

 

(c)

Normally three or four fixtures will be played each evening

 

(d)

The top six players plus the best two juniors qualify for the finals

 

(e)

The competition finishes the last Monday in May

 

(f)

The finals will be played on a single evening in June

(a)

The format of the finals will be to divide the eight qualifiers into two round robin pools.  The winner of each pool will play the final. In the event of a tie, the head to head result will count.  If this does not break the tie, then the player finishing higher in the original all-play-all qualifies.

 The lower graded player takes the white pieces in the final

If the final is tied, ten minutes per player matches are played (with colours alternating)  until a winner emerges
